Promoting Creative Writing in Scotland

This page contains information regarding people and places who are looking for submissions.

****************************************

Looking for a home for your writing? Even, we at Read Raw can't keep up with all the changing market information out there, but to help you out:

If you are a writer of fantasy, horror and science fiction, check out Ralan at www.ralan.com for the latest news of who is looking for what.

If you write anything else, and we mean anything, then arguably the best market information site in the world is at www.duotrope.com where you can search for a home for your novel, poem, short story, and flash fiction and everything else in between, in whatever genre you are writing in.

Check out the Jobs and Opportunities page at www.literaturetraining.com  for a whole range of places to submit your work too, and they are helpfully put in chronological order-closest deadlines first.

The Scottish Book Trust website at www.scottishbooktrust.com  has regular information about competitions and bursuries and schemes they run to support writers and writing. Ditto for the Scottish Poetry Library's News and Events page at www.spl.org.uk

And don't forget the Writer's Room at the BBC - www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom  - which gives invaluable information about submitting scripts to Auntie Beeb, and for some kinds of drama the doors are always open, but for others there are specific submission dates.

So you have no excuse now, do you? Get your work out there, and start notching up the successes.
